Book review: Halfway To The Grave by Jeaniene Frost

As Goodreads say;
Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.
In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner—are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.
Personal Opinion:
This is one of my favorite new series. I fell in love with the male main character the second the heroine, Cat, laid her eyes on him. Bones is unlike most other love interests. He grabs a hold of the reader and doesn't let go until the reader wants him to hold on tighter. It was the same for me. I couldn't help but fall for him. The same I can say about Cat. I usally don't like female lead characters because I can help but become annoyed with the chocies they make. Cat I find refreshing. Her sense in humor is wonderful and her witty conversations with Bones is a main reason I love this book. Bones also has this shameless way of speaking, I can't not love it.
As for the story and Jeaniene's writing, she has become one of my favorite writers. It's fun, fast-paced and full of action. Not to give away spoilers but it had me sitting on the egde of my chair, laughing my a** off, almost brusting into tears and waiting for the next bomd to drop. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a great book with a touch of dirty scenes.
To criticize a little, I found that when I put the book down I wasn't compelled to take it up again. I can't say why, just something I noticed. But still, I'm so glad I did finish it. Amazing.
